    Douglasville, GA — The City of Douglasville is proud to announce a year-long celebration marking its 150th anniversary. This milestone offers residents and visitors the chance to reflect on the city’s rich history, celebrate its vibrant present, and dream together about an exciting future. With the theme Discover Our Past, Delight in Our Present, Dream of Our Future, the campaign honors the city’s remarkable journey while building momentum for the next chapter.

    “We are thrilled to commemorate 150 years of Douglasville,” said Mayor Rochelle Robinson. “This year is about more than looking back—it’s about celebrating who we are today as a community and planning for the generations to come. We invite everyone to be part of this historic milestone.”

    Highlights of the Year

    The anniversary celebration includes a variety of events, activities, and opportunities for community engagement:

    • Signature Events: The year kicks off with the City’s Birthday Party on February 25 at the Historic Courthouse Museum, where a brand-new exhibit on Douglasville’s history will be unveiled. The celebration continues with the annual State of the City Address on March 27 at the Douglasville Conference Center, providing insights into the city’s accomplishments and vision for the future. The festivities will culminate with the City’s 150th Celebration at the Greystone Amphitheater on September 13, a festival-style event featuring live entertainment, food vendors, and activities for all ages.

    • Community Block Parties: The city is bringing the celebration to neighborhoods across Douglasville with a series of block parties in each ward. Highlights include the Ward 3 Block Party at Jessie Davis Park, which will celebrate the park’s grand reopening after major renovations. These events will offer residents fun, family-friendly activities while showcasing the unique character of each ward.

    • Tour of Progress: This downtown tour, sponsored by the Main Street Program, takes residents on a journey through Douglasville’s thriving business and historic areas, starting at O’Neal Plaza.
